Western Colleges annihilates Claremont in Cavite leg of NBC Inter-High

Western Colleges used its heft and height advantage to pound on a hapless Claremont School of Gen. Trias, 94-39, on Thursday in the second game of the four-match knockout elimination for the Cavite leg of the inaugural National Basketball (NBC) Inter-High at the Bacoor City Stadium in Cavite.

After limiting their opponents to just nine points production in the first period, Western Colleges took control of the game and never relinquished a double-digit margin en route to a one-sided win in the tournament for boys 19-under from private schools nationwide.

Western Colleges have joined the Philippine Christian University, winning over Victorious Christian, 86-57, in the first game of the knockout elimination phase to the crossover knockout semifinals slate on Nov. 4 in the same venue.

A. Sasutil top-scored for Western with 20 points, but his teammate Julio Lopez was awarded Player of the Game with a double-double performance - 15 points and 10 rebounds.
