St. Augustine Institute of Pampanga clobbered Don Bosco Academy Mabalacat on Friday and claimed the first semifinal slot at the start of the Pampanga leg National Basketball Championship (NBC) Inter-High at the Gov. Bren Z. Guiao Sports Convention Center in San Fernando, Pampanga.
The Augustinian cagers posted a double-digit margin in the early minutes of the first period en route to an annihilating victory in the league for boys 19 under from private schools in the province.
After the Pampanga leg, action shifts to Manila for the NCR leg slated for Oct. 18 at the Amoranto Stadium in Quezon City.
After posting an insurmountable 69-16 lead at halftime, it's a walk in the park for the Augustianian. They will meet the winner between St. Vincent Academy of Apalit and Sta. Cruz Academy which playing in a separate knockout match.
The other half of the four-match knockout phase involved Pampanga Colleges vs Holy Angel University and St. Mary's Academy vs Guagua National Colleges.
The semifinals duel is set for Saturday starting at 2:00 p.m. at the same venue.
