Pampanga Colleges dominated the third period to defeat St. Vincent Academy, 91-76, on Saturday in the crossover semifinals of the National Basketball Championship (NBC) Inter-High Pampanga leg at the Gov. Bren Z. Guiao Sports Center in San Fernando.
At the start of the second half, the PA cagers outscored their opponents 17-9, turning a 13-point halftime lead, 53-40, into a 29-point margin, securing a victory and a chance to compete for a coveted Pampanga diadem.
Pampanga Colleges will compete for the championship title in the league for 19-under boys from private schools. They will face the winner between St. Augustine Institute of Pampanga and Guagua National College, who are still playing in a separate Final Four knockout game as of press time.
The finals are scheduled for Monday (Oct. 16).
Ariel Francisco led Pampanga Colleges with 24 points, six assists, and a shot block. Kyle Iverson Yabut also contributed with 19 points and eight assists.
