A total of 16 teams – eight from Pampanga and eight from the National Capital Region – have confirmed their participation in the inaugural National Basketball Championships (NBC) Inter-High North and South Luzon tournament set to open on October 13 in Mabalacat, Pampanga.
Presented by Jam Sports under the supervision of JAMSAP Entertainment Corporation, the school-based tournament aims to become the country’s foremost grassroots basketball program and the biggest in terms of school partnership and participation.
Getting ready to strut their wares are Pampanga schools Sta. Cruz Academy Lubao, St. Augustine Institute of Pampanga, Guagua National Colleges, St. Mary’s Academy, St. Vincent Academy of Apalit, Holy Angels’ University, Pampanga Colleges-SHS and Don Bosco Academy-Mabalacat.
Also heading the call are Manila-based STI College Munoz-EDSA, St. Mary’s College, Holy Trinity Academy, Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic School, San Felipe Neri Catholic School, Jaime Cardinal Sin Learning Center, Far Eastern University-Diliman, and Marymount Academy.
Teams will be officially welcome during the tournament’s media conference on Sunday (October 8) at the Don Bosco Academy in Pampanga with no less than Cabalen pride former PBA Most Valuable Player Arwind Santos leading the list of guests and celebrities.
JAMSAP will also officially announce the appointment of Santos as the tournament Commissioner.
Aside from Pampanga and NCR, the tournament draws participation from schools in Bulacan, Rizal, Cavite, Laguna, Nueva Ecija, Isabela, Cagayan, Ilocos, Pangasinan, Batangas, Quezon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur and Albay.
