Gateway Integrated School hardly flexed its muscle in demolishing Saint Thomas Beckett, 93-32, on Thursday in the Cavite leg for the inaugural National Basketball Championship (NBC) Inter-High at the Bacoor City Stadium in Cavite.
Except in the third period where Saint Thomas outscored Gateway, 15-13, it's all Gateway show as it claimed the third slot for the Final Four knockout game of the tournament for boys 19-under from private schools and presented by Jamsap Entertainment Corporation headed by Chief Executive Officer Jojo Flores.
Philippine Christian University and Western Colleges already advanced to the next round after beating their respective opponents. The crossover semifinals are slated on Nov. 4 after the long holiday break.
Ralph Andrei Monilla was adjudged Player of the Game after dropping 16 points, five rebounds, one assist, and four steals. K.Dalora had 19 points to lead Gateway.
The Cavite leg is the first stop for the South Luzon qualifying meet. NBC also holds elimination rounds in Batangas, Laguna, Rizal and Quezon.
