Favorites clash for the Laguna leg diadem on the NBC Inter-High cagefest

An all-NCAA championship is in the offing for the Laguna leg of the inaugural National Basketball Championship (NBC) Inter-High as three out of four squads advanced in the Final Four are connected in the National Collegiate Athletic Associations (NCAA).

Unless long-shot Queen Anne School make a miracle of sort against history-maker Saint Benilde International in their semifinal duel today (Nov. 9) at 2:00 p.m., Laguna will be represented by an NCAA school for the South Luzon Championship slated next month.

Lyceum of the Philippines University-Laguna and Mapua Malayan will dispute the other half of the knockout semifinal showdown at 10:00 a.m. at the Cabuyao Stadium.

All three NCAA-connection squads bamboozled their respective opponents on Tuesday in the first phase of the knockout-format tournament for boys aged 19-under from private schools presented by Jamsap Entertainment Corporation headed by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jojo Flores.

The young Pirates outplayed Liceo de Cavinti, 109-40; the Mapua Red Robbins demolished Liceo de Cabuyao, 118-41; while St. Benilde made history in a 146-21 drubbing off Maranatha Christian Academy in the tournament sponsored by Mommy's Garden Cafe' Restaurant Events, Sipao's Sports Park, Cabbana Packaging, Daddy's Carwash, Miel's Artisan Cafe', Batang Pilipino Basketball League, Provincial Government of Laguna and Denha.

Young Blazers recorded the largest winning margin so far with 135 points victory while limiting their rivals to just four points in the first period before closing the halftime on a 91-7 lead.

Ryoma Clyde Sarno, who led the St. Benilde assault with a double-digit performance expected to be the main man against Queen Anne which barely survived Raya, 109-100.

Tickets for today's game can be acquired online, just scan the QR code.

Currently, the Philippine Christian University-Dasmarinas, another NCAA squad, was the first entry for the South Luzon Championship after dominating the Cavite leg last week. They already seeded at No.3.
