A homecoming of sorts is set to bestow to Cabalen pride Arwind Santos as the multi-dimension 6-foot-4 forward will suit up with Pampanga as the Giant Lanterns play Marikina Shoemakers in Game 1 of their first-round best-of-three playoff series Friday night (October 6) in the 2023 Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL).
Gametime is set at 8. pm at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center in San Fernando.
The arrival of the 16-year veteran Pampanga native and one-time PBA Most Valuable Player (2013) to the Giant Lanterns was officially announced on the team’s official Facebook page.
The announcement came just a week after the 42-year-old defensive power was appointed by Jam Sports as Commissioner for the National Basketball Championship (NBC) Inter-High – the country’s newest school-based cage tournament -- which is set to unfold with North and Luzon eliminations on October 13.
Jam Sports will officially announce Santos’s appointment as Commissioner during the grand media conference on Sunday (Oct. 8) at the Don Bosco Academy in Mabalacat.
